What it is
Spiritual direction offers a safe space with a companion to sit with you.
It invites noticing, wondering, and exploring who God is within you.
My role is to witness and hold space as you respond to God’s invitation to a deeper, personal relationship in knowing you are the beloved.
Spiritual direction is truly under the guidance of the Holy Spirit as our director and guide. The aim is to encourage and enhance that connection with, and awareness of, God in all things.
“Spiritual Direction is a sustained attempt at leading a person to an understanding and acceptance of self, thus helping that person to actively allow God to strip away the barriers that impede the action of the Holy Spirit in him/her.”
What it is not
Spiritual direction is not advice giving, problem solving, or fixing you.
What happens
A session is about an hour, once every three to four weeks.
We hold silence.
We share and answer questions.
We hear a blessing.
The space between
Because of the nature of our sessions, much is stirred within you that you will want to process, sit with, listen for discernment, and possibly try new spiritual practices.
The space between sessions is created for time to do these things that have been brought to your heart and mind.
Who I sit with
Female and male, all ages, from different countries, in all seasons of life.
People seeking someone to witness and honor their faith journey.
I tend to attract people with a similar background and story:
- An education background
- Living overseas
- A second career
- Being single more than half of life
- Experience of deep grief
What people notice
Many share how they are able to name feelings, process grief, and attune to the movements of God in their whole being.
After a few sessions, directees find they have a need for someone to listen and reflect back what they are feeling and noticing.
Others notice they are not sure of their true image of God, and are listening to old narratives. By receiving direction they are able to identify their true image of God in this stage of life, and receive the love He has to offer.
What it costs
I offer a three-tiered fee structure to support your personal financial needs.
You choose the tier that fits your situation.
